Activity 8: Assessment Part 2 - Forms

Beginner Task

I did not know there were so many options in Google Forms.  I really had just scratched the surface in my previous experiences with making forms.  I love all the options that I played around with as I completed this first task.

I had some trouble thinking of what to do for an example form, so I asked "Mr. Google"and got 80 Interesting Ways to use Google Forms in the Classroom.  This is where I got the idea to make a parent survey to use at our Parent Information Night.  I think this will be a great way to gather insight and opinions from parents and encourage dialogue between home and school.  I will have parents use their child's chrome book to complete the survey after my PIN night presentation.  I will send a link to the form to parents who do not attend PIN night.

Does a parent need to have a gmail account in order to complete the form?  Would parents with yahoo, work, or other accounts be able to do it?  This is important because if I ask parents to complete this on the chrome book after my PIN night presentation, I want it to work!!

  1. That is a great way to use your form! I loved the questions that you asked. It would be a great way to collect information and to show parents one way you will be using your chrome books.

  2. You may take ALL of the questions! I "stole" them from someone as well. Isn't that how the best teachers get all their ideas anyway?

  5. This is a great idea for a Google Form and I love that you found a resource with Google Form ideas and linked it in your blog for other readers to utilize.

In answer to your question, parents do not need a gmail account to fill out a Google Form but you need to set this feature. At the top of your form there are several check boxes. The first one is "Require login to view the Form". If you uncheck this box, anyone can view the form with or withour Gmail. If this is checked, they have to have Gmail to view it.
